“My goal with Mod Mobile is to provide my clients with well-designed applications not only in the technical sense but also in terms of usability and user experience.”
– Joe Regan, Principal at Mod Mobile
Joe Regan, Principal at Mod Mobile, is excited to be taking his broad base of application development experience and applying it to today’s mobile development platforms. Joe has been an information systems consultant for well over 15 years and has been coding professionally for over… well, let’s just say it’s been a long time, shall we?
Obviously, the technology landscape has changed greatly over that time… and Joe’s changed with it. How else would you explain someone who began his professional life coding in FORTRAN and is now developing iPhone and Android apps? Joe has consistently been able to make the technology transitions through the years and can help you do the same.
How? By using proven, successful software development practices and applying them to the mobile platforms that are the best fit for you and your customers.
So why “Mod Mobile”? It stems from a certain fascination of mine with a ‘60’s British youth subculture known as the Mods. They’re best known from their depiction in the Who’s rock opera Quadrophenia and their affinity for custom-made continental suits, military parkas, soul music and Vespas.
One of the distinguishing features of the Mods – outside of the clothes and scooters – is that they were a forward-looking subculture. While subcultures often look to the past, the Mods were interested in the new, the up-to-date – the modern.
What does this have to do with mobile? With Mod Mobile, I am always looking forward as well – the mobile market moves too fast not to! And my aim is to do this with the emphasis on clean design and style that the Mods had as well.
